"Hey Guys, Today I want to tell you about Sheriff Donnie Edenfield. I am a single mother and I have worked extremely hard to make a better life for both me and my children. I have definitely put in the work, but I would not be the person I am today if Sheriff Edenfield had not seen the potential in me. After working a short time as a correctional officer, I decided to go back to school to obtain my law enforcement certification. While in the academy, I began reaching out to several law enforcement agencies for potential employment. I was given the run-around and began to feel like no one believed in me. One day Sheriff Edenfield visited the school and I managed to get the courage to introduce myself to him. After that meeting, I was impressed that he came back to the school to check on my progress. I finally felt like someone believed in me. Later, my father had a stroke and I was overwhelmed by the support and encouragement I received from Sheriff Edenfield and his employees. I went on to ace the academy, but struggled with the state board exam. Just before my final attempt, Sheriff Edenfield came and prayed with me over my test anxiety. He asked if he could also ask his church to pray for me and gave me a prayer cloth. I passed my test and Sheriff Edenfield hired me as a Deputy Sheriff. A few months went by and i was feeling overwhelmed one day with all of my emotions catching up to me. I was sitting alone in my car crying at the office. Sheriff Edenfield saw me and approached me. I was scared, thinking that he would think I was not fit for this job. Instead, he took me aside to a group of ladies who encouraged me and pointed me in the right direction. I now place my trust in Jesus Christ and have been redeemed. Others have helped me on my journey to success, but it all started with Sheriff Edenfield believing in me and giving me a chance.
And for my own experience, I am glad to have him as Sheriff!"
